Sharina Filion

Sharina Filion is the Founder and Owner of Rocky Mountain Venom Hockey Academy, one of Alberta’s premier independent programs competing in the Premier Hockey League (PHL). Built on a clear vision, Venom is dedicated to developing high-performance athletes while shaping confident, resilient young leaders. A proud alumna of the Mount Royal University women’s hockey program, Sharina brings elite playing experience and a strong commitment to long-term athlete development. Under her leadership, Venom has grown into a respected program known for its discipline, accountability, and opportunity.
Sharina currently serves as Head Coach for the U11 Major Male and U13 Female teams, where she is recognized for her ability to connect with athletes, set high standards, and build belief. Her coaching philosophy blends advanced skill development with character, integrity, and mental strength, ensuring players are prepared not only to compete at a high level, but to succeed beyond the game.
At Venom, the expectation is clear: compete with intensity, lead with purpose, and represent the crest with pride, both on and off the ice.

Chad Moore

Airdrie native Chad Moore brings elite playing experience and more than a decade of coaching expertise to Rocky Mountain Venom Hockey Academy. As President of the Airdrie Techmation Thunder and owner of VSPG Hockey Development Group, Chad is deeply committed to advancing player development and growing the game within the community. Having competed at the AAA level with the Airdrie Xtreme and at the junior level with the Airdrie Bisons, he understands firsthand what it takes to perform, compete, and advance.
As Head of Hockey Development, Chad leads the structure behind Venom’s player pathway. He oversees curriculum design, mentors coaching staff, and ensures every athlete progresses through a clear, high-performance development model. His role extends beyond the bench, as he is instrumental in shaping the culture, standards, and expectations that define Venom hockey.
Serving as U13 Major Male Head Coach, Chad is known for his detail, accountability, and ability to push athletes to elevate their game. His philosophy blends advanced skill progression with leadership development, creating confident competitors who understand both the technical and mental demands of elite hockey. At every level, Chad’s focus remains consistent: build disciplined athletes, develop strong character, and prepare players to compete at the next level.

Richie Hubbell
Goaltender Development Director
Richie Hubbell brings high-level playing experience and a strong technical foundation to Rocky Mountain Venom Hockey Academy. A graduate of the Calgary Buffaloes U18 AAA program, Richie went on to compete for four seasons in the Heritage Junior Hockey League with the Strathmore Wheatland Kings, where he earned recognition for his consistency, preparation, and competitive approach.
Transitioning into coaching, Richie has worked with respected programs including the Calgary Mustangs (AJHL) and CNHA Canucks U16 AAA (AEHL), further developing his ability to train goaltenders at an elite level.
At Venom, Richie leads the goaltending development program, focusing on building technically sound and mentally resilient athletes. His approach emphasizes edge control, situational awareness, rebound control, and composure under pressure. Known for his calm, detail-oriented coaching style, Richie helps goaltenders understand the game at a deeper level, empowering them to compete with confidence and take command of the crease.
At Venom, the crease is a leadership position, and Richie develops goaltenders who embrace that responsibility.
